PROTEST MUSIC POSITION PAPER PRIMER:
- Pick one song and analyze its tone, meaning, imagery, etc. What is it getting at? What are its successes and failures?
- Pick two songs, and through them discuss the purpose of protest music as a whole.
- Compare and contrast the older protest songs to the newer ones. How are the approaches similar and/or different? Is one more successful than the other?
